What is collected

How you sign in. Signing in with Google returns your email address and nothing else: the only permissions the sign-in asks Google for are openid and email. A passkey or an emailed code stores the same address.

The accounts you connect. When you connect an account, you sign in to it yourself. famula reads from a connected account in order to do the work you connected it for.

The record. While famula works, what happened is written down: what famula said and what you said, what it did, which sources it reached and whether reaching them worked, and what the work cost. That record is yours to read.

Your device, if you allow it. If you allow notifications, your browser issues a subscription that lets famula reach you on that device. Your time zone and your light or dark preference are stored so the screens read correctly.

famula asks nothing about your name, your job, your company or your goals.

What it is used for

To run famula for you. That is the entire list.

Who else handles it

famula relies on other companies to operate, so parts of your data pass through them. They are described by what they do rather than by name:

Beyond those, your data leaves only where the law requires it.

Where it is handled. In the United States. If you are writing from somewhere else, your data crosses a border to get to famula, and you should decide about famula knowing that.

Text messages

famula has a phone number of its own. It texts you at the number you give it, and texts businesses you ask it to reach about the matter you asked about. The numbers, the messages and whether they were delivered are written into your record.

Mobile information and texting consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts from famula’s number, or HELP for help.

Google user data

Today the only thing famula receives from Google is the email address returned when you sign in. It is used to know which account is yours and to reach you. It is not shared with anyone.

The mail connector is not open yet. When it opens, connecting a Google account will ask your permission for these and nothing else: read your mail, send mail as you, organize your mail, read your calendar, and read your files in Drive. famula does not ask for permission to delete your mail, your calendar or your files.

Whatever famula reads from a connected Google account is used only to do the work you connected it for, is shown back to you, and is written into your record. It is not sold, not handed to anyone else, not used for advertising, and not used to train any model.

famula’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Health data and where you are

famula asks your phone for these only when something it is doing for you needs them, and only with your phone’s own permission screen. Nothing is asked when you install or sign in.

Health. famula asks your phone’s health store, Apple Health in the iPhone app and Health Connect in the Android app, for one kind of data at a time, the kind the work needs, such as sleep or steps. When it reads, it reads that kind’s entries over the days it needs, with the app and the device each entry came from. When it offers to record something for you, such as a weight or a workout, it asks to write that one kind, and what it wrote is in your record. Like everything famula works on, what it reads goes to a model provider so the work can happen. It is written into your record. It is not sold, not handed to anyone else, not used for advertising, not used to train any model, and not stored in iCloud.

Where you are. famula asks your phone or browser where you are when it needs to know, and reads it once each time, with how accurate the device says it is.

You end either in your phone’s settings, or by telling famula to stop. What was already read stays in your record until you delete it there.

How long it is kept, and how to destroy it

While your account is open, what famula did is kept so that you can read it. That is what the record is for.

A new customer’s first day is free and then stops. Seven days after that, what was collected is deleted.

You can delete everything at any time, from your account screen, without asking anyone and without waiting for anyone. It is the one action in this product that stops to ask whether you meant it.

What survives a deletion is what running a business obliges anyone to keep: what was billed and paid, kept for seven years, and the list of places famula reached for you, kept for ninety days and then deleted. Neither holds what your sources contain.
